Our story
Sixteen years on the dock road
Mark started Mersey Motor Co. in 2009 with six cars, a kettle and a Portakabin. The plan was simple and hasn't changed: buy good cars, prepare them properly, price them fairly and tell people the truth about them.
Sixteen years later we've got 10 cars on the pitch, a full workshop behind us and a customer book that's mostly repeat business and word of mouth. Families come back for their kids' first cars. That's the bit we're proudest of.
We're not the biggest dealer in Merseyside and we've no interest in being. We'd rather you got the right car and came back in three years than shifted metal and never saw you again.
How we work
Three things we don't bend on
Straight talking
One price, clearly displayed, with no admin fees bolted on at the end. If there's a mark on a car we'll show you it before you ask.
Our own workshop
Three MOT-qualified technicians on site. Nothing goes out for sale until it's been through them, and they look after your car afterwards too.
Properly local
We're on Regent Road, we live round the corner, and most of our business comes from people who bought here before. That keeps us honest.
Milestones
How we got here
- 2009
Mark Halloran opens the pitch on Regent Road with six cars and a Portakabin.
- 2014
The workshop is built out back — every car now prepared in-house.
- 2019
Second generation joins the business. Stock passes 40 cars for the first time.
- 2023
First EVs land on the forecourt, with rapid charging installed on site.
- Today
Still independent, still family-run, still answering our own phone.
